Some of My Projects

MONU Planner

Productivity planning tool

View Live

A minimalist digital planner app built with SwiftUI and AWS Amplify, designed and developed end-to-end. MONU focuses on calm, structured planning workflows — daily tasks, habits, goals, and calendar views — wrapped in a clean, linen-inspired UI. I also explored AI-enhanced planning concepts through prototypes such as task suggestions, summaries, and productivity insights to evaluate how intelligent assistance could support daily routines.

Design & Product: Conducted user research and competitive analysis, then designed user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes in Figma. Iterated through multiple design versions based on usability feedback.

Development & Impact: Built the native iOS app using SwiftUI and integrated AWS Amplify for authentication and cloud data sync. Successfully launched on the App Store and continue refining features based on user feedback and usage patterns.

AI Chat Demo

Conversational AI Interface

View Live

A polished chat interface exploring real-world async patterns, error handling, and seamless UX. Built with careful attention to loading states, message flow, and responsive design — creating conversations that feel natural and intuitive.

How It Helps: Demonstrates practical async request handling, error recovery states, and smooth message transitions. Useful for understanding how to build responsive chat interfaces that handle edge cases gracefully, with clear feedback for loading, retry, and success states — essential patterns for modern web applications.

What I Learned: Building this project deepened my understanding of async JavaScript patterns, error handling strategies, and UX design for real-time interfaces. I learned how to create smooth loading states, implement retry mechanisms, and design conversation flows that feel natural and responsive.

Career Development Prototype

View Live

A UX-driven career development prototype exploring job-search flows, resource organization, and front-end interface design. Built as a lightweight client-side prototype to highlight product thinking, information architecture, and responsive UI patterns.

Focus: User flows, information architecture, responsive layouts, and frontend prototyping.

Role: Product Designer & Frontend Developer

How It Helps: Provides a practical example of organizing complex job-search workflows into a clean, structured interface. Demonstrates how thoughtful information architecture and user flows can reduce stress in high-stakes scenarios like career planning and job applications.

What I Learned: This project taught me how to design for high-stress user contexts, where clarity and organization are critical. I learned to prioritize information hierarchy, create intuitive navigation patterns, and build prototypes that effectively communicate product concepts before full development.

A little bit about myself

I'm Ashley, a product-focused Full-Stack Engineer and UX/UI Designer who builds clean, intuitive digital experiences.

My latest project, MONU, is a digital planner app now live on the App Store. I designed it in Figma, developed it with SwiftUI, and integrated AWS Amplify for cloud functionality — leading the entire process from concept to deployment. Projects like this strengthened my ability to move seamlessly between product design and engineering, turning ideas into polished, production-ready applications.

Outside of coding, I find inspiration in journaling, music, fitness, and time with my two dogs — reminders to stay curious, balanced, and creative in both life and work.

📍 Based in Houston, excited about both local and remote opportunities.

My Learning Journey

Building deep understanding through teaching and documentation

I believe the best way to prove you've truly learned something is to teach it to someone else. That's why I create comprehensive guides and resources as I master new concepts.

Learning should feel good, not stressful. When you enjoy the process, you retain more, stay motivated longer, and actually want to keep growing.

Complete Algorithm Guide

A comprehensive HTML guide covering fundamental algorithms and data structures. This resource demonstrates my systematic approach to learning complex computer science concepts by breaking them down into digestible, well-documented explanations.

Complete LLM Guide

A comprehensive guide to Large Language Models covering everything from fundamentals to RAG, evaluation, and deployment. This resource demonstrates my approach to understanding AI/ML concepts by building practical knowledge from the ground up, with real-world applications and deployment strategies.
